Jackson Kuria Kihara, known as "Cop Shakur," a prison officer and activist, has been arrested by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) at his workplace in Kamiti. 

Prior to his arrest, Kihara had reported receiving death threats after sharing the Kasongo Cartoons, which are critical of certain government actions. 

Kihara has been an active participant in anti-government protests. In July 2024, he was arrested while protesting outside the Parliament Building. 

Despite facing interdiction for his activism, Kihara has stated that he does not regret his involvement in protests, emphasizing his commitment to advocating for change. 

The arrest of "Cop Shakur" has sparked reactions among Kenyans, with discussions focusing on his activism and the government's response to dissent. 

As of now, further details regarding the charges against Kihara and the circumstances of his arrest have not been publicly disclosed.
