KATA Statement on Flight Disruptions Across Major Airports in Kenya
Aviation workers' unexpected strike has led to significant operational disruptions at Kenya’s major airports. Flights are canceled or delayed, impacting both domestic and international travel. The Kenya Association of Travel Agents (KATA) urges travelers to stay updated and calls for a swift resolution to the situation.
The Kenya Association of Travel Agents (KATA) has confirmed that operations at all major airports in Kenya have been severely affected this morning due to an unanticipated industrial action by aviation workers.
Inquiries with major airlines operating out of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) and other airports indicate that flights have been grounded as essential ground services are unavailable.
As a result, both domestic and international flights are expected to be either canceled or significantly delayed for an indefinite period. KATA strongly urges travel agents to immediately reach out to their clients and inform them of the situation before they head to the airport.
